** That delicious rain Tuesday was great for Mother Nature’s world but it made for a slow day for sleuthing naturalists. Brian Stone was able to capture some of the lightning that made the rainfall very heavy is some areas. He took video clips of the storm and then took still images of the lightning strikes from the videos. Where the lightning was brightest it overwhelmed the camera's sensor and caused a wide light streak across the whole image.

**Aldo Dorio got a photo of a LESSER YELLOWLEGS [Petit Chevalier] and a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER [Bécassin roux] side by side to compare their sizes. He also got a photo of a Short-billed Dowitcher on its own.

** My smaller than last year fleet of MONARCH BUTTERFLY [Monarque] chrysalids started to emerge on Tuesday morning. The first one went very quickly from the darkened chrysalis to the emerged butterfly. I was hoping to tag them for their trip to Mexico but the tags Rheal Vienneau was getting arrived late due to the US mail holdups at the moment so I will be sending the remainder off untagged and wishing them well.
