Nelson Poirier,
Nature Moncton
** It’s Nature
Moncton Tuesday Night Outing night with a meander on the Mill Creek
Nature Park trails in Riverview. Meet at 6:15 p.m. at the top of Runnymede
Road. Runnymede Road is off Hillsborough Road, the second street after the
Petro-Canada station across from Point Park subdivision. This week’s outing
will be led by Wendy Sullivan.
** Brian
Coyle checked his trail camera Sunday morning across from his Lower Mountain
Road home and stopped under a canopy of wild apple trees to have a nice
collection of birds come in for him, including several BLUE-HEADED VIREOS,
a few AMERICAN REDSTARTS, 6 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES, and at least
a dozen BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEES to make for quite a show. He
photographed the BLUE-HEADED VIREOS from different angles and, as well, the
AMERICAN REDSTARTS from an under view. Brian also saw a doe WHITE-TAILED
DEER with twin fawns in the field across from his home. He has seen them on
his trail camera, but it was the first time he has seen them out in the field.
** Aldo
Dorio photographed a close-up of a SAVANNAH SPARROW at Hay Island Monday
nicely showing its ID features of a shortish tail, yellow lore blush, and a darker upper mandible than the lower.
