**Wayne Corcoran who lives in Chelmsford, near Quarryville seems to have had the Evening Grosbeak capital of New Brunswick to his birdfeeder yard for some years. Wayne comments it’s been a very quiet fall so far with the birds patronizing just the ususal chickadees, Blue Jays, woodpeckers, etc. Within the last week or so  a few more birds are arriving with the American Goldfinch at 25-30. The Evening Grosbeaks were coming early fall but left again until Sunday when there were approximately 30+. Mourning Doves are in the 35 range, a few Grey Squirrels, and woodpeckers. He is noticing a lot of birds still in the woods yet probably because of the lack of snow yet.

Wayne had a Black Bear a day before Christmas that left hibernation for an outing. He is hoping a few more birds will come in with certain to arrive snow.

**In an effort to only display the pertinent information on the Red Bark Phenomenon that Cathie Simon found in the Irishtown Nature Park, it ended up in the loss of some of the photos that Cathie had taken. The photos are attached today showing the tree affected by the fungus and a photo of the one from the website that discusses this phenomenon. To read more about this phenomenon, scroll back to the text of yesterday’s edition.

The missed  photos of the White-winged Crossbills and Pine Siskin that Cathie took at the park are also added today.
