It’s a very quiet day with nature reports, however a few significant announcements to review.

**Significant snow amounts have been pleasantly slow to arrive but all indications are that it will happen as it normally does.

As we all know, many of our winter bird residents take it all quite in stride. Krista Doyle shares a photo of the Downy Woodpecker looking quite content to search among the snow and laden tree branches for its daily vittles.

**The New Brunswick Environmental Network provides a list of activities happening during the month of January. That list is attached below and anyone who would like to join in on any of these presentations given via Zoom can do so by clicking on the event and registering:

The NBEN is proud to share information on upcoming events available to those interested in the environment. If you would like your event to appear in our monthly calendar email, please make sure to post it on our on-line calendar by logging into the Eco-Community and filling in the details here.

Upcoming Events for the Month of January

**The Nature Trust of New Brunswick also will have some Zoom presentations for folks to join in. These should be available within the next few days, so stay tuned.

**Nature Moncton had an outdoor event planned for a winter visit to White Rock Recreational Area on January 15. The Nature Moncton board met Monday evening and regretfully had to postpone this event until a later date due to present Covid restrictions in New Brunswick. Hopefully that new date will be sooner rather than later.

**One special event of the year where cancellation is not necessary is the upcoming annual Nature Moncton Member’s Night on January 18. Members will have lots of interesting events to share so carefully read the attached write-up to have this chance to share those moments with others:

NATURE MONCTON JANUARY MEETING

JANUARY 18, 2022, AT 7:00 PM

VIRTUAL MEETING

MEMBERS’ NIGHT

LINK TO JOIN https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89311816328?pwd=YWFUUm9Ed1NKbGdCdmRxR1dINjE3Zz09

Once again, we have decided to hold our annual Members’ Night meeting virtually in order to keep everyone safe from Covid-19.  Have you had an interesting encounter with nature in the past year?  Have you taken some good photos of birds, insects, animals or anything else in the various habitats of New Brunswick? The January Nature Moncton meeting belongs to members like you who would like to share their photos and stories of that world in short 15-minute presentations.

If you have something you’d like to share, contact Fred Richards at fredrichards@rogers.com and he will instruct you how to present on Zoom (very easy!) and do a short practice run with you if you’d like.

Let’s start 2022 off the right way – by sharing with one another our positive experiences of the natural world around us!

For those who want to attend the meeting, the link to join is below and will be posted on the Nature Moncton Information Line the days before to remind.

All are welcome, Nature Moncton member or not.
