** Jane LeBlanc and her puppy went for a walk this morning and found Cedar Waxwings feasting on the petals on her neighbour's apple tree, which is in flower.

** Steve and Sue Berube walk the Mill Creek Nature Park in Riverview almost every day and share some photos of the wildlife community there.

They found Pink Lady’s Slippers in two of their four known locations in the park. Last year they were discouraged that at least one of the spots was picked clean - no flowers this year.

Sue’s photo also includes a seed pod from last season that would be full of many thousands of seeds ready to reproduce if just a few of them can find the right habitat. The seeds of this plant carry very little endosperm and conditions have to be perfect for reproduction.

Sue also photographed a cooperative Eastern Garter Snake, and a Snowshoe Hare in its rich brown pelage.

**Am including just a few more photos of Andrew Darcy’s visit to the Black-bellied Whistling Ducks we have been so fortunate to have stay for several days in the Bathurst area. We seldom get visits from this species in New Brunswick and they often tend to be all too brief, and folks just don’t get to see them. This group obviously found the hospitality too good to leave quickly!

Bob Blake maintains daily weather statistics from his Second North River home and compares what he recorded in May 2021 with May 2022. I’m attaching Bob’s table below as he sent it:

always interesting to note differences from one year to the next.

**Susan Richards has been busy folding and preparing greeting cards picturing some of the excellent photos shared with Nature Moncton Nature News.

This has been a popular project and more information on how to get packages of them are available from susan_richards@rogers.com or phone 506-334-0100.
