**We’ve all enjoyed spotting Monarch Butterfly
caterpillars this season but there are lots of other colourful caterpillars appearing to be
on the watch for, especially at this time of year.
John
Inman came across 2 such caterpillars as he was mowing his lawn on Tuesday. One
would appear to be the large, beautiful Luna Moth caterpillar. It was 3
inches in length.
The
second one appears to be the Banded Tussock Moth caterpillar.
Identification stands to be corrected with the variability consistent with
tussock moth caterpillars.
**Aldo
Dorio photographed a male Belted Kingfisher at Hay Island on Tuesday as
well is the ever-present Savannah Sparrow. Least Sandpipers were
active at Hay Island as well.
