**   Dave Christie reports noting about 800 sandpipers [bécasseaux] feeding along the Mary's Point beach on Saturday morning, approximately 2 hours after high tide. This is the most Dave has seen this summer, but a couple of visitors had reported two thousand a few days ago, which blends well with reports from Johnsons Mills. We can expect number of migrants to swell promptly at this point.

**  Some very interesting finds from Gabriel Gallant at his Ste-Marie-de-Kent home. On Saturday he found an APHRODITE FRITILLARY [Argynne aphrodite], which is not a commonly found fritillary in New Brunswick. Also on Saturday Gabriel found a GALIUM SPHINX [Sphinx du gaillet] moth caterpillar, also a nice striking caterpillar to encounter. However, the best may have been on Saturday, July 18, when he found and photographed an ACADIAN HAIRSTREAK [Porte-queue d'Acadie]. There have only been a handful of reports of this butterfly to the Maritimes Butterfly Atlas project that has been going on for the past five and a half years. A triple whammy for Gabriel!

**  The CEDAR WAXWING [Jaseur d'Amérique] is a late nesting species but fledglings are appearing. At the moment, Margaret Murray has one using her deck as a perch while the parents deliver food to it. She did not recognize the fledgling until parents arrived to feed it. The young are very streaked and unlike the adults, until they moult. She has also been seeing fledgling PINE SISKINS [Tarin des pins] and fledgling PURPLE FINCHES [Roselin pourpré] coming to her feeders. A pair of ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS [Cardinal à poitrine rose] are also regular, along with a nice array of other expected birds. Margaret has had all her TREE SWALLOW [Hirondelle bicolore] families leave their nest boxes, except one that is still present.

**  Brian Stone got some nice pictures of a female COMMON EIDER [Eider à duvet] with ducklings on Saturday.

**  Aldo Dorio shares a nice close-up photo of a fresh-looking WHITE ADMIRAL [Admiral] butterfly. We don't seem to have had many photos of this species submitted this summer. It's normally a common species.
