** Danny Sullivan had a visit from a lone COMMON REDPOLL [Sizerin flammé]
to his Communications Road feeder yard on Saturday. There seems to be little
Redpoll action around feeders this season. This one, a male, appears to be
starting to brighten into breeding plumage.
** An interesting point David Myles mentioned about the BLACK BEAR [Ours
noir] photo he submitted for yesterday’s edition: look closely to the left of
the obvious bear and you’ll see two eyes, and then be able to make out a second
bear very cryptically hidden in the photo.
