** Carmella Melanson has had a double whammy – or maybe better stated a triple whammy – with uncommon bird visitors to her Barachois yard.  Last week, a CAROLINA WREN [Troglodyte de Caroline] visited and this week, two DICKCISSELS [Dickcissel d'Amérique] have arrived.  Carmella got photos of both Dickcissels to nicely show the signature yellowish eyebrow, thick bill, and chestnut wing coverts.

** Roger Leblanc is doing a marsh monitoring at Riverview Marsh to spot a GREAT EGRET [Grande Aigrette] there on Sunday.  He comments that the shorebird number and variety seem to be going down recently.

** Jean Renton is very much enjoying the bird activity around her Canaan Forks camp.  She is enjoying BALD EAGLES [Pygargue à tête blanche], BELTED KINGFISHERS [Martin-pêcheur d'Amérique], GREAT BLUE HERONS [Grand Héron], BLUE JAYS [Geai bleu], CANADA JAYS [Mésangeai du Canada], BROWN CREEPERS [Grimpereau brun] and RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES [Sittelle à poitrine rousse].  Jean suspected she had a GOLDEN EAGLE [Aigle royal] come to a tree near their, but not confirmed with photos.

** Ray Gauvin got a photo of the August full moon as it rose on August 26th.  Ray is also sharing two sunrise photos he got a Pointe-du-Chêne wharf last week.

** We made an error in yesterday’s edition on the naming of the tree cricket.  Bug Guide has updated their identification to identify it as a BLACK-HORNED TREE CRICKET, not a FOUR-SPOTTED TREE CRICKET as we had thought.  The photos and video are reattached today.
