(Editor’s note: the Field sparrow is a rare to
uncommon visitor to New Brunswick. The bold white eye ring and pink bill are quick ID clues. Its breeding range and year-round range is
to the south of us in the southeast half of the US which is not that far
distant. Will it become more common in New Brunswick as the climate warms??)
John also had two Baltimore Orioles make
pitstops in his yard. One individual was brighter than the other to clearly
indicate there were two separate birds.
One oriole seemed to pass through quickly while the
second one stopped to enjoy some orange sections waiting.
